THE MAKING
Heritage Gates pieces start as wrought iron bar stock, bent on a coal forge and dressed by hand with hammer and anvil. The tapers and collars are forged the way New Zealand's early estate smiths worked: slowly, with heat and weight. No plasma cutter comes near one of our panels.
The geometry comes last. After the metalwork is finished, the frame is squared and welded, then hot-dipped in zinc. The result sits in the ground for a century.
MATERIAL: HOT-DIPPED GALVANISED WROUGHT IRON
FINISH: POWDER COAT - IRON BLACK
Heritage Gates featured in residential ironwork special, noting structural innovation in the Wellington Series.
